NEWS FROM OUR SENIOR PASTOR

NEWS FROM OUR SENIOR PASTOR

I have a preacher friend who always greets me this way – “God is good, all the time.”  And he waited until I responded – “All the time, God is good.”

So right now, wherever you are reading this, here I go…

“God is good, all the time.”

I can hear you in my mind, responding from your homes, offices, on vacation, wherever you all are…

“All the time, God is good.”

Every day, I reflect on all the ways God is good.  One of the big ways I see it is His good work in our congregation.  It has been an amazing Summer with GRACEKids at Vacation Bible School, GRACEStudents on mission trips to Tennessee, Costa Rica mission partners visiting, vibrant worship, strong giving from the congregation, 6 baptisms, 12 new members, and so much more.

And there is so much more to come…

I hope you already have on your calendar the Locust Street Campus Open House.  It is an act of God’s goodness and guidance; and with God’s help, the congregation’s generosity of time and money that we were able to move into our new mid-week space so quickly.  I can’t wait for you to see every room. And I can’t wait to begin to share the vison for our next season together.

On Sunday afternoon, on July 22nd, from 4-6 pm.  I hope you will join us for

*Guided tours of the building

*Refreshments in the Fellowship Hall

*2 mini-concerts by Tom Goeman (4:30 & 5:45 in the Sanctuary)

*5 pm Congregational Update in the Sanctuary

I can’t wait for this event for us to continue to dream God-sized dreams for our future of knowing, growing and showing the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Also, coming soon are our Legacy Weekend (August 25-26) which will include worship on Sunday and the Four-Score and more luncheon. And a neighborhood party at our Locust Street Campus (August 18) to meet our new neighbors and throw a party for them. It will be a church picnic with a twist. More details to come.

On Sunday, we will continue our Psalm for the Summer series.  Manuela Kauer will preach on the next phrase of Psalm 23 – He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.  I’m also looking forward to hearing some of our youngest share the Psalm with me.  I hope you are joining them in memorizing this powerful Psalm for your life.  See you Sunday!

Your pastor and friend,
