NEWS FROM OUR SENIOR PASTOR

We wrap up our On Display series on the book of James this week with James’ conclusion. He ends his book with a very clear mandate to pray. Not just when things are bad. Not just when things are good. Not just by yourself. Not just with others. Pray. And pray a lot.
Sunday, we will take a deep dive into his very practical advice and actually practice what he says in James 5:13-18. Click here to read it to get you ready for my message.
Also, this weekend in both services, we will introduce you to the GRACE Summer Fellows. This year, we launch the GRACE Fellows Program – really relaunch — think YMAs (Youth Ministry Assistants) 2.0 or Summer interns 2.0. For the next 10 weeks, we will have three young adults who will invest in GRACE ministries. But we will also invest in them. Our staff will meet with them weekly to lean into their Faith Development and their Leadership Development.
The Summer Fellow program is a really great way for us to invest in the next generation and to invite them to consider how God is at work in their lives and how he might be calling them to serve Him. This summer, we will have a Next Generation Fellow (working with our kids and students), a College and Young Adult Fellow, and an IT Fellow (Information Technology Fellow). Join me in welcoming them. I hope you will have the opportunity to meet these impressive young adults committed to following Jesus and serving Him.
Speaking of the next generation, this is the last chance to register for Vacation Bible School. If you have children or grandchildren or neighbors, this is a must. Our team has been hard at work and I can’t wait to rock our Locust Street Campus all week. Let’s pray for this strategic week as we teach our children the good news of Jesus. Click here for more information or to register.
Finally, it is such a wonderful thing to see our own members living out their calling. We are going to regularly spotlight a “MEMBER ON MISSION.” See below for our members Jerry and Rhonda Miller and their calling to serve Bethlehem.
Can’t wait for Sunday,
Dr. Marnie Crumpler, Senior Pastor
