That’s what Lesslie Newbigin said in his book,Foolishness to the Greeks.
He’s not talking about a building or an institution. He’s talking about you. You are the church. You tell and embody the true story of the resurrected Jesus. You do that when you gather for worship at BECAHI each week. You do that when you study the bible in your small group. You do that when you care for each other. And you also tell the story when you leave worship and go home to your neighborhood. You do it when you go to the gym. And to your work or school. And to the IronPigs games. Every day, you (and all of us together) live the good news of Jesus.
Our inaugural Serve Week is intended to encourage you to see every place you are as your place of ministry. We have loved hearing the stories about serving – keep them coming.
Serve Day is in 1 day! On Saturday, we will serve together as a tangible way that we tell and embody the Jesus story. On Saturday morning at 8:30 am, we will gather at our Locust Street campus and scatter throughout Bethlehem to love our city in Jesus’ name. Already, 250 of us are signed up – but we do have a place for you. Click here to find your spot.
On Sunday after serving Bethlehem, we will continue in our “On Display” series. I’ll be preaching on the relationship between our faith and our good deeds, or “works” — James says, “Faith without works is dead.” Once again, we will hear from Jesus’ little brother, that your faith on the inside changes who you are and your actions on the outside. We’ll also get a picture recap of Serve Day.
It’s another not to miss Sunday. What a great privilege to be your pastor. I am so grateful for the ways God is at work in you —
I can’t wait for Sunday.
Your pastor and friend,

Dr. Marnie Crumpler, Senior Pastor
