NEWS FROM OUR SENIOR PASTOR

When the days drew near for Jesus to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. Luke 9:51
Jesus knew it was coming. He knew he would have to die so that people could live. It was time for Jesus to set his face to Jerusalem… to fully embrace God’s plan for him.
He knew he would be alone in facing the cross. But, as Jesus walked towards Jerusalem … to take his final earthly breaths on the cross, he came face to face with the very people he was giving his life for.… government officials and anonymous crowds, dear friends who were devastated and others who mocked.
As we count the days to Easter, we will take our place with those people and make our way to the cross and to Jesus himself.  This Sunday, I will begin our “Faces at the Cross” series with the disciples and Peter. They all made bold pronouncements that they would walk with Jesus. But, when Jesus was arrested… they scattered.
When faced with the claims of Jesus and the cross, we all must find our place. I am grateful to be on the journey toward the cross with you.
Your pastor and your friend,

Dr. Marnie Crumpler

Senior Pastor
