GRACE this Week

This weekend, we will experience one of the biggest divisions in our country – do you watch the Super Bowl for the game or for the commercials? I confess that this year, I am in the second category. What teams are playing this year? Just kidding.

All over the country, whether it is for the commercials or the game, one thing that seems to be true for at least 50% of all Americans, is that they watch the game – and 90% of those that watch it, attend a Super Bowl party, where we consume on average 2400 calories.

Every Sunday, we throw a different kind of party. It’s called worship. We gather together with people we love who have a common love for Jesus Christ. Imperfect, yet forgiven people. But, we also have a new guest list each week. We are hoping that new people – new to our Lehigh Valley community and new to knowing Jesus– will join our party, meet our Jesus and become a part of our faith family. You can do me a favor this week and every week… welcome the new people you see.

God’s plan is that our weekly worship “party” builds us up and equips us and helps us live our best life. One of the beautiful things about our community is that we are each wired differently. God made us with different passions and gifts. This Sunday, I’ll wrap up our “Your Best Life” Series with Stay in Your Line. To live your best life, you need to figure out the ways God has uniquely created you. Only then can you live the mission God made you for. Paul had a lot to say about this and we will dig into it on Sunday morning.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

This past Sunday, we had a great start to our 2020 annual campaign. If you missed it, you can make your financial commitment for our ministry and mission in 2020 by turning in a pledge card on Sunday or you can do that now online – click here.

I can’t wait for our party Sunday!
