GRACE This Week

I can’t wait for Sunday.

First, we all get an extra hour of sleep Saturday night. It’s “fall-back” Sunday. So, set your clocks back an hour on Saturday night.

Second, I will give a very important update about our SHINE campaign as we look forward to next week’s Commitment Sunday. Along with the update, you will hear more testimonies from our amazing congregation how God is at work in their lives and I will continue the SHINE series. This week, I’ll preach “The Brightest Light”. Without Jesus, there is no shining. We will look at Jesus’ claim, “I am the light of the world”.  By the way, if you need to catch up on the SHINE campaign, go to our website at www.gracecb.org/shine. You can hear testimonies, sermons and see the SHINE vision video and brochure. What an exciting vision God has given us!

Third, we will baptize 5 children. And we will have a rose on the communion table celebrating another new GRACE baby. What a privilege to teach the good news of Jesus Christ to the next generation.

Fourth, we will have a special soloist at the 9 am service along with our Chancel Choir, led by Tom Goeman and, of course, our Modern Band leading us at 10:30 am.

And finally, Sunday afternoon, I am looking forward to the Ordination and Installation of Bill Freeman. The service will be at 3 pm at our Locust Street Sanctuary. There will be a reception to follow. Bill has been in a pastoral role for many years – with Priority One and with GRACE Church. But, on Sunday, he will be ordained to the pastoral ministry. Bill has spent over a year, going through the ECO ordination process, including written ordination exams and oral examinations with our Heritage Presbytery committee. This is the culmination of much prayer and preparation. I am so grateful for the call on his life that leads him to passionately pastor, disciple and serve our congregation. Bill will be our Assistant Pastor for Care and will continue his visitation and pastoral care duties. We are so blessed to have Bill on our Team GRACE. Please be praying for Bill in this significant milestone for him.

It is such a privilege to be….

Your pastor and friend,

Dr. Marnie Crumpler, Senior Pastor
