For the most part, Christmas is a wrap. Even if your tree isn’t down. (Mine isn’t.) Even if you haven’t mailed your Amazon prime returns. (I haven’t.) Even if you hang on to the 12 days of Christmas, Sunday, it’s all over. As we turn the calendar from 2019 to 2020, maybe you are busy making one of the top resolutions – put away the sweets and put on the sweats. Stop spending and start saving. Carve out more time for those you love.
Where resolutions come easy and go maybe even easier, they represent a longing that God put in each of us. Here’s how the Bible puts it in Ecclesiastes…
God has also set eternity in the human heart.
You are wired to want more… in every single aspect of your life.
This time of year, it’s just natural to dream that the new year will bring something new, something different…. Something more.
On Sunday, we will launch a new series – YOUR BEST LIFE.
I’ll be asking some practical questions: What does your best life look like? What are you dreaming about? What do you want to change? And how can God help?
As we ask these questions on Sunday, we will take New Year’s Communion together at both services. I can’t wait for this new series with the promise of a new year in front of us. It’s a perfect series to invite a friend to!
And, I can’t wait to see you in the church at BECA. God is at work in wonderful ways in us as we begin a new year of following Jesus together. There is so much ahead of us…
With new year expectation…
Your pastor and your friend,
Dr. Marnie Crumpler, Senior Pastor
