GRACE This Week

This week, we continue counting down the days to Christmas with Dr. Luke.

Sunday, we started our journey through the Gospel. We gave away hundreds of Luke Journals to guide our investigation of Jesus through the eyes of Luke. If you didn’t get yours, I apologize that we ran out. But there will be more at BECA this week – please do pick up your copy in the lobby Sunday.

On Sunday, I’ll continue in our Luke: The Nativity series with A Disrupting Visit. After introducing us to Zechariah, Luke turns the spotlight on Mary and her out-of-control life brought on with an angel’s announcement. “How can this be?” she asked. To get ready for Sunday, you can read Luke 1:26-38 in your journal. And as you read, ponder these questions:

  • When your plans get altered and interrupted, how do you react?
  • When everything goes wrong, do you believe Christmas can make it right?
  • Luke says Mary is favored. Do you feel favored by God?

Jot some answers or your own questions in your journal as you continue your own investigation into Jesus and his birth.

Join me Sunday at 8:30 or 11:00 for our Modern services or at 9:45 for our Classic service. We will take communion together at all services and light the advent candles at all the services. And of course, the Christmas music will be glorious. We will also introduce new members all morning.

Sunday afternoon, we gather for our Christmas Service of Remembrance. This service is a time to acknowledge the grief and loss that many of us will experience this holiday season. CLICK HERE for more information.

We are closing in our goal of serving our city with our ministry partners through our annual GIVING TREE. Your generosity shows the love of Jesus this Christmas to hundreds of families. As I write, we have about 80 people still to bless. If you have not chosen a name, CLICK HERE.

Also, make your plans now to attend and invite your friends and family to our Christmas Candlelight Services (in-person or online) on December 24thCLICK HERE to see the schedule.

I can’t wait to see you Sunday. Look forward to counting down the days with you. It’s getting closer.

Dr. Marnie Crumpler
