Jesus said, “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
This is the weekend we celebrate our country’s birth and all the freedom we enjoy. But before the fireworks on Monday, I hope you will start your Independence celebration at GRACE – worshipping the One who sets you free.
The author, Annie Dillard, once wrote that if we really understood worship, we would put on our seatbelts and crash helmets. Do we believe that when we worship, that we actually encounter the living God who created the heavens and the earth? In worship, do we expect a kind of fireworks that comes when we encounter our living and loving God? And does that encounter change us and get us ready for the week to live our faith and join God in his work all around us?
This Sunday, Kyra Thomas will be continuing in our series, Summer Stories, preaching Jesus’ parable: The Great Banquet. We’ll take communion together at all the services and will celebrate the baptism of one of our newest little ones at the 11 am service.
We will have our “Reconnect Summer” in full force with activities and popsicles after services, along with our coffee and refreshments. Hope you are already signed up for our other Reconnect events – see below for more details.
Don’t miss what God might do in your life this week in worship! Hold onto your seat! Come ready to encounter our great God!
