Last week, I was in Colorado Springs, Colorado with other ECO Senior Pastors of large churches in our denomination. You know many of them including Alf Halvorson and Bryan Dunagan and our Denomination Executive, Dana Allin. It was such an encouragement to pray together, to hear stories of God’s work in our churches and in our denomination, and to share the story of God’s work in you.
It reminded me that this Sunday, is the 6th anniversary of your historic and decisive vote to be a part of our growing ECO denomination. ECO connects us to our long Presbyterian history and our deep roots of commitment to Christ, alongside a desire to grow in our faith studying God’s word, and applying our faith as we love the world in Jesus’ name and invite others to follow Him.
So much has happened between then and now – we have grown deeper in our faith, and we have grown wider, as more and more people have joined our church family.
Sunday, we will look at the ways God grows the Kingdom. This is the second week of our Summer Stories series. I’ll be preaching on “The Seed.” You can read this Jesus story in Mark 4:26-34. The farmer sows. But the growth is a mystery. In the same way, God invites us to sow… but only He can ultimately make growth happen. You Sow. God Grows. At our 11 am service, we will baptize one of our newest GRACE little ones. And as we baptize her, we pray… God grow her faith. Every day, may she know your love and follow Jesus. We will sow. But God will grow. On Sunday, I will also share a video of the progress of our new campus. It’s so exciting to dream about sowing and seeing God growing at our new church home.
We have been talking about this Summer as a “RECONNECT” Summer. We have men’s and women’s events and a churchwide RECONNECT event at the end of the summer. Men, it’s not too late to sign up for your event on Saturday. See below to sign up. But as a part of RECONNECT, we will have our coffee as well as some interactive activities each SUNDAY outside on the auditorium side of BECAHI. We hope you will linger after services and RECONNECT. This week, we have a giant slide.
I’ll see you at the top of the slide,

Dr. Marnie Crumpler
Senior Pastor
