This past Sunday was another milestone in our “tabernacle season.” Many of you wrote names and prayers and Bible verses on the steel beam that will be a part of our new campus – and specifically a part of our new Sanctuary.
Also on Sunday, Doug Stewart, our Executive Pastor, gave an update on the progress and giving towards our new campus. A couple of highlights from the update:
*We are in the 10-month countdown to moving into our new church home
*Total cost for the project is $22.1 million and between the generous giving and proceeds from our Locust Street Campus, we anticipate ~ $5.6 million mortgage
* 76% of the SHINE commitments have been received – a remarkable $12.3 million dollars.
* We have not had to borrow money to date – due to your giving and construction timing. We have already realized considerable interest savings.
* If any are able, please consider accelerating your SHINE giving. it will delay our borrowing and will continue to give us interest savings
I am so grateful to God for His faithful leading, and your incredibly generous giving. The countdown is on, and God is good!
This Sunday, we are recognizing our High School Seniors! Taylor Shade, our Next Generation Director, will be preaching “The Graduation of the Church.” It is always a privilege to watch God at work in our students. Sunday, we will be praying and cheering on our seniors as they get ready for graduation.
Tomorrow, I am excited for Serve Day. If you haven’t signed up, there are a few spaces left. CLICK HERE for more info. Don’t miss this opportunity to love the Lehigh Valley in Jesus’ Name. What a visual of SHINING – serving across the Lehigh Valley together.
My heart has been heavy as violence and shootings across the country are reported. As we are out serving tomorrow, I know we will also be praying for our own community, as well as the places and people that have been affected by this recent hate and violence. Christ have mercy.
See you Saturday, and Sunday.
