GRACE This Week

Have you ever heard a mom called a “momma bear?” There’s something about a mom… The way she chases after her toddler… the way she fiercely protects her child. The way she loves and guides and if pressed… well, look out.

Where do you think those instincts come from? Not from the countless “Momma Bear” memes… but from God. Throughout scripture, God describes himself as comforting like a mother comforts her child, as gathering his children like a mother hen gathers her brood under her wings, and yes even as a “momma bear” not to be messed with.

In week two of our Running From God series, we will see God, like a “momma bear,” run after Jonah. We will see God love, guide, and chase Jonah. God sends a storm and a whale – for His purposes and for Jonah’s good.

On Sunday, we will celebrate all the “momma bears” of GRACE. We will recognize and pray for moms in all the services. Be sure to get a picture of your mom at the photo booth and enjoy some good coffee and homemade treats between services.

Some of us will be struggling on Sunday because we don’t get to be with our mom. Others will be grieving because our mom is already with the Lord. We will lift you up in prayer on Sunday, too.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
