GRACE This Week

This week I will wrap up our “In the Room Where It Happens” with SHINING. It never ceases to amaze me how God is at work in people – people who live lives that SHINE the love of Jesus to the world.

You’ve heard me talk a lot about SHINING over the years…. And I will keep talking about it. It is central to our mission at GRACE. And it is true about you. Jesus told his followers:

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Sunday, we will head to the inside of a jail cell in Philippi. Paul and Silas are in the interior of the cell, after being beaten. They are put in shackles… but they shine anyway.

What does it look like for followers of Jesus to shine when things are really dark?

And how does God use shining followers of Jesus?

Sunday, I’ll give some examples of shining followers throughout history… and in our church… and how God is using them to change the world.

Also on Sunday, we will baptize two of our newest GRACE little ones.

You won’t want to miss it.

Dr. Marnie Crumpler
