I can’t wait for Sunday.
It’s Confirmation Sunday – Sunday, we will receive our Student Inquirers as new members. They have been meeting all year exploring the faith and studying together. The Session met with these impressive students and heard their faith statements. It is so exciting to watch students “own” their faith and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. In all services, you will hear from these 11 students, and at the 11 am service, we will introduce these students to you. What a privilege to teach the next generation.
Our Re-launch continues. Don’t miss our COFFEE and Fellowship time between the services. And at all services, GRACE Kids program will be going strong.
This week, GRACE Young Adults is back. If you are in your 20s or 30s, gather for breakfast and bible study at 10 am outside at BECA.
Also, beginning this week — Masks are no longer required in worship. However, we welcome those who prefer or need to wear masks, for medical or other reasons, to continue wearing masks. The Covid Team will continue to guide us in the best practices for our church’s ministry.
In services, I will continue in our REBUILD Series. Nehemiah got a burden for God’s work. He made a plan for that work. Everything was going so well… And then it wasn’t. Nehemiah and the people rebuilding faced intense opposition and crazy obstacles.
The Bible is very clear that there are forces that are at work against us when we are doing God’s work. Nehemiah faced them. God’s people doing God’s work have always faced them.
Sunday, we will look at Nehemiah’s opposition and how he faced it and counted on God to protect and guide him. This is a very important message for you. And a very important message for our church. God is at work in our midst powerfully, so there is and there will be opposition. Sunday, I will remind you…the words of John are true – “the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
Your pastor and friend,

Dr. Marnie Crumpler
