This past weekend was the beginning of Holy Week. Once again, a donkey came down the aisle in our Palm Sunday worship services. It was so good to have many of our children back in worship waving palms. And speaking of children, it was a joyful Palm Saturday on our Hecktown Road property with hundreds of children and their families hunting eggs and going on a scavenger hunt to learn the real meaning of Easter.
It was an electric weekend. That was the mood in Jerusalem when Jesus rode in on a donkey that first Palm Sunday. Lots of people. All celebrating Jesus coming into the city.
Now, tonight we keep walking with Jesus towards the cross. I hope you will join us for our Maundy Thursday Worship Service at 7 pm. We will sit with Jesus and the disciples in the upper room, take communion together…. and then keep walking to the cross in our Tenebrae Service of Darkness. Tomorrow, we continue our journey with Jesus on Good Friday. We remember that He gave His life for us. I want to invite you to come by the Locust Street Campus for a time to reflect: Journey to the Cross: An Interactive Good Friday Prayer Experience. Come to the Sanctuary anytime from 10 am – 8 pm. Set your own pace for a self-guided time of prayer and reflection. No reservation required.
And then finally, we will celebrate together the day that changed the world forever: EASTER SUNDAY
All together now−at the top of your lungs: “He Is Risen Indeed!”
I’m so ready for Easter. How about you?
It’s been a long time coming. I’ll never forget last Easter – in the midst of the covid crisis, we were forced to celebrate the resurrection apart – in our homes. And to make it worse, you may not remember, but I do… During the middle of our services, we lost our internet connection multiple times. We didn’t even get to celebrate fully together online.
This year is a do-over. And I can’t wait. We will worship together at BECA. We’ve expanded to 4 services to make sure that all who are able to worship in-person are able to reserve their seat. We will also live-stream all of our services. And yes… we’ve upgraded our internet capacity too.
At 8:30 am and 11 am, we will host our modern services.
At 9:45 am and 12:15 pm, will host our classic services.
We will have special music at both services – a live band and virtual choir at the modern services; and strings, trumpet, and choir at our classic services – we’ll pass out the musical scores for the Hallelujah Chorus for you to join in at the classic service.
At all services, you will receive a special gift that will help you claim the truth of the resurrection of Jesus.
This year, we get a do-over to say again: “He is Risen Indeed!”
I hope you will not only declare this life-changing truth when I ask on Sunday… I pray that you will invite your friends and neighbors to join you.

Easter also marks another year for the name of our GRACE Church.
May we know his GRACE in new ways as we walk with Jesus this week. It is a joy and privilege to be…
