Help Pick Fresh Produce at America's Grow-A-Row

Serve with America's Grow-A-Row by helping harvest fresh produce for people experiencing food insecurity throughout the region.

This outdoor opportunity connects volunteers directly with the work of providing healthy, fresh food to neighbors across the Lehigh Valley.

What You'll Need

A few quick tips to prepare you so your serving shift goes smoothly whether you’re heading to the farm or packing meals at GRACE.

🌱 America’s Grow-a-Row · Pittstown, NJ

Picking at the farm

  • Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. You’ll be working in open fields.
  • Dress for the weather and bring water, sunscreen, and a hat.
  • Plan for the drive: the farm is about an hour from GRACE. Arrive 15 minutes early to check in.
  • Volunteers under 16 serve alongside an adult.
  • No experience or tools needed.
📦 Feed My Neighbor · at GRACE

Packing meals at GRACE

  • Arrive about 15 minutes before your shift for parking and check-in.
  • Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and no jewelry is permitted in the packing room.
  • Hairnets and gloves are provided at your packing station.
  • The building is wheelchair accessible, and no experience is needed full training happens on site.
  • Kids are welcome ages 5 and up.
  • No experience or tools needed.

Large groups of 25+ or organizations should contact the Feed My Neighbor team before registering so availability can be coordinated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a cost to participate?

No. There is no registration fee, but advance registration is required.

How long are serving shifts?

Packing shifts at GRACE are 2 hours and the harvesting shift in NJ is 3 hours.

Do I need previous experience?

No. All training, instructions, and materials will be provided.

Can children participate?

Yes, depending on the opportunity and applicable age requirements. Review the details included during registration.

Can my group serve together?

Yes. Everyone should register for the same available shift. Large groups should contact the event team before registering.

What happens if my preferred shift is full?

Choose another available shift. A waiting-list option may also be offered through the registration platform.

Is the building accessible?

Yes. GRACE Church Bethlehem is wheelchair accessible.

Where should I enter?

Use the Front South entrance and follow the event signs.

Will childcare be available?

Childcare will not be available children over the age of 5 are encouraged to serve with their families.

Is meal packing the only way to serve?

No. Volunteers may also harvest produce through America's Grow-A-Row or join one of the event support teams.
